I've always been fascinated by insects. Especially beetles. I wanted to get across the idea of "dissect" for this poster. The geometric design was developed in Processing.
I drew the tape ribbon for this poster with a Wacom tablet which I don't usually use but I wanted to get that ribbony effect. The texture on the tapes is from some cool new brushes I discovered named True Grit.
This poster was inspired by the Neil Gaiman quote "make amazing, glorious mistakes." Making mistakes means you're pushing yourself and moving beyond what you've done before.
I had a lot of fun coming up with the texture for this poster. I used a brayer to get that uneven ink effect and then scanned it into Photoshop.
A poster based on the sign Ray Bradbury kept above his typewriter for 25 years. "Thinking is the enemy of creativity...because you begin to rationalize and make up reasons for things instead of staying with your own basic truth."
I used the Processing language to come up with the slanted lines design. This was my first time screen printing with CMYK inks and was able to get six colors from a three color process!
A poster based on the Brian Eno quote "luck is being ready... I don’t really believe in luck; things happen to everyone, but you have to be ready for them."
